EDF Energy is holding further consultations with regard to the proposals for Sizewell C.   This will run from 18th July - 27th Sept 2019.

Parliament has already decided that there is a need for a new nuclear power station, and that Sizewell is a potentially suitable site for construction which will take 9-12yrs.

The project will be like a sizeable new town being constructed 17 miles down the road from Wrentham.

8500 workers with a campus for 2400 of them, and 400 caravan plots , and on site parking for 1500 vehicles.  Improved rail and road links with possible bypass for Theberton and Yoxford and new road and roundabout for the B1122 Yoxford to sizewell road.  There will also be a beach landing area constructed for extra large loads.  HGV traffic will increase as freight is delivered to site along principal roads such as A12. There will be direct bus links to Sizewell from Lowestoft.

All this will need new services, and the EDF documents propose new water treatment works, sports facilities , and canteen / restaurant facilities.

It is hard to overstate the scale of things and it is well worth having a look at the summary document on the EDF website.
